UAE-Emirates Adventurer starts the FOCP initiative

Khalifa Al Mazroui collaborates on his ‘ Hope Mountain ‘ project with Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP).

Renowned Emirati adventurer Khalifa Al Mazroui announced his fresh initiative’ Hope Mountain’ yesterday at a press conference held at Al Bait Hotel, Sharjah, in cooperation with the UAE charity organization Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP). As of September 3, 2019, the Hope Mountain project includes a mountaineering trip Al Mazroui will undertake to raise resources for young cancer patients to Mount Elbrus in Russia. 

Al Mazroui said he’s going to raise the UAE flag on the Elbrus peak along with the FOCP flag highlighting the logo and a painting by’ Abu Shehab, a leukemia kid.

Initiatives for Cancer victims

In parallel with its task to mobilize group initiatives to support and bring comfort to cancer victims, the Friends of Cancer Patients promotes the project as portion of its engagement to foster humanitarian initiatives and inculcate a culture of volunteerism.  

Al Mazroui stressed that the purpose of the mission was to provide personal and economic assistance to cancer-stricken kids. He observed that he had always been backed by FOCP and made trips to youthful clients easier.

The Emirati daredevil noted that his trip to Mount Elbrus, 5,642 meters above sea level, was also directed at raising consciousness of cancer and encouraging volunteering among youthful Emiratis.

FOCP and Consciousness of the disease

Al Mazroui praised FOCP’s attempts to increase consciousness of the disease and stressed the significance of personal assistance in the therapy of cancer nurses.

Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, Director-General of Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), said:’ FOCP supports the Hope Mountain project in touch with its commitment to fostering cancer knowledge in the UAE. FOCP is committed to providing emotional and financial support for cancer patients as well as medical treatment to alleviate their suffering.

She said Al Mazroui was an inspirational role model for the teenagers of the Emirates, and that FOCP would provide assistance throughout his trip to capture one of Europe’s highest mountains. In motivating both people and society institutions, she also noted the significance of such projects.

Founded in 1999, Friends of Cancer Patients was created to assist relieve the economic and mental strain frequently placed on clients and their relatives by cancer and to encourage consciousness of the six soon detectable types of the illness: nipple, cervical, liver, hair, testicular and colorectal cancer.

In addition to its sensitivity function, Friends of Cancer Patients is dedicated to offering moral and economic assistance to thousands of clients and their relatives of all races and races across the UAE.To date, FOCP has given assistance to more than 5 000 cancer patients and their relatives.
