Russian President Vladimir Putin is showing no signs of compromise, the BBC’s Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg says.
It comes after Russian officials said “no compromise” was reached during five hours of talks between Putin and US envoy Steve Witkoff on Tuesday.
Putin believes Russia has the initiative on the battlefield in Ukraine, and that therefore he can dictate the conditions of a peace agreement, Rosenberg says.
