Valencia’s iconic firework spectacle, “La Nit del Foc” (the night of fire), dazzled crowds despite heavy rain, filling the night sky with colour, light, and sound. The Hermanos Caballer pyrotechnics team launched 1,405 kilos of fireworks in a breathtaking 20-minute display from the Jardines del Turia near the Palau de les Arts.

A key event in the Fallas festival, “La Nit del Foc” is part of the vibrant annual celebration in honour of Saint Joseph. The festival, which ran from 15 to 19 March, features daily Mascletàs—a unique firecracker spectacle—and culminates in the burning of artistic monuments, known as Fallas.

The Fallas festival, listed as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, is deeply rooted in Valencian tradition. Each neighbourhood forms a Falla commission, working year-round to fundraise and build intricate sculptures, which are ultimately set ablaze in a grand finale. With over 400 commissions in Valencia, the city transforms into a cultural and artistic hub during the celebrations.
