Storm Claudia swept across Portugal on Thursday, triggering flooding and fallen trees across the Algarve and leaving Faro District particularly affected.
Faro saw heavy rain and strong winds from midday, which flooded streets and brought down trees. Officials have yet to confirm the total number of incidents.
ANEPC reported more than 2,200 callouts nationwide since early Thursday, mostly for floods and road clearing. Setúbal and Faro remain under orange warnings as the storm continues east, though no casualties were reported in Faro.
Thousands of homes lost power as parts of Seixal and Montijo faced severe flooding. The storm also hit the Canary Islands and is forecast to reach the UK on Friday.
