The UAE's attempts to reduce the cholera epidemic in Yemen remain

The UAE began its attempts to reduce cholera spread in Yemen.

The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, supplied hospitals, health centers and clinics with medical and medical supplies and conducted awareness campaigns for health care against Cholera.

Aid attempts have been conducted in the Red Sea Coast region of Yemen as well as throughout the governorates of Taiz and Hodeidah. The UAE assistance agency also allocated drinking water to civilians in Yemen.

From 15 to 21 July 2019, Yemen’s Ministry of Public Health and Population revealed 19,459 suspected cholera instances with 11 related fatalities.

A UAE assistance agency official said drugs, intravenous liquids, antibiotics and others were needed.

The cumulative complete amount of confirmed instances of cholera from 1 January 2018 to 21 July 2019 is 885,982, with 1,259 related fatalities, according to the World Health Organization, WHO. Children under the age of five account for 24.2% of the total suspected cases in 2019. The UN Global Public Health Agency observed that 22 of 23 governorates and 301 of 333 districts in Yemen were impacted by the epidemic.
